Why Am I So Tired All the Time?

Have you ever reached the end of the day and wondered...
"Why am I so exhausted?"
Not the kind of tired that comes after a busy day.
The kind of tired that lingers, even after a full night's sleep.
If that sounds familiar, you're not alone.
Many women find themselves feeling unusually tired during perimenopause and menopause. But hormones are only one piece of the puzzle.
Fatigue is your body's way of saying, "Something needs my attention."
Hormones Can Play a Role
As estrogen and progesterone fluctuate during perimenopause, they can affect more than just your menstrual cycle.
They can also influence:
Sleep quality
Energy levels
Mood
Stress response
Mental clarity
Even if you're spending enough hours in bed, poor-quality sleep can leave you feeling drained the next day.
Stress Is Exhausting
Many women today are carrying an invisible load.
Work.
Family responsibilities.
Marriage.
Caring for aging parents.
Keeping the household running.
Trying to take care of everyone else before taking care of themselves.
That kind of mental and emotional weight takes energy.
Sometimes the fatigue you feel isn't because you're doing too little.
It's because you've been carrying too much.
Your Daily Habits Matter
Energy isn't created by one healthy choice.
It's built by many small choices repeated over time.
Ask yourself:
🌿 Am I getting enough protein?
🌿 Am I drinking enough water?
🌿 Am I moving my body regularly?
🌿 Am I making time for rest?
🌿 Am I spending too much time on screens before bed?
You don't need to be perfect.
Small improvements can make a meaningful difference.
Sometimes There's More Going On
Persistent fatigue isn't something to ignore.
Conditions such as anemia, thyroid disorders, sleep apnea, depression, nutritional deficiencies, and other medical concerns can all contribute to feeling tired.
If your fatigue is new, severe, getting worse, or interfering with your daily life, it's important to talk with your healthcare provider. They can help identify the cause and recommend appropriate treatment.
Give Yourself Permission to Rest
We often wear busyness like a badge of honor.
But rest isn't something you have to earn.
It's one of the ways you care for yourself so you can continue caring for the people you love.
Some seasons require more grace.
Some seasons require slower mornings.
Some seasons require asking for help.
And that's okay.
Your worth has never been measured by how much you accomplish in a day.
Michelle's Gentle Reminder 🌿
You weren't created to run on empty.
Listen to your body with compassion.
Sometimes the healthiest thing you can do isn't push harder.
It's pause, refill, and begin again.
